Module H- Cyberethics for Kids

Integration corner for Module H and chapter 8, I found a website called Cyberethics for Kids. This is a really good website to teach children the dangers of the internet. Also, to give them tips on what information you should not give out on the internet. Like you should never give out personally information out on the internet because there are crazy people out there that will take advantage and steal your identity or could even want to hurt you. This website also offers information on rules in cyberspace and explains to children that hacking is a serious thing and you could get into a lot of trouble for doing it. It also gives kids different scenarios on what other kids have done and could get in trouble for is they were caught. One example they give is two kids want to purchase a game on the computer, but its to expensive. However one of the kids remembers there it a website he could get this game for free, which is illegal and you can get into a lot of trouble over and this website lets kids know the dangers and consequences of there actions on the computer. But I think children need to know what’s on the computer and the dangers and trouble they can get into.

  1. Britny, I have been on that website before, it is in fact good. I think it teaches a lot of things that often times are over look. Didn’t you like the having to go through different stations learning different aspects of the technology world as it relates to kids.

  2. Brit, thank you for posing this website. Not only can this website be of great benifit to students, but parents as well, and thats the best part. Parents should be in control of what is being exposed to their children, even over the internet. Children can also help themselves by knowing and understanding the risk that there are out there.
